Salkantay Trek to MachuPicchu
For the inhabitants of the Salkantay trekking Andes, reverence to the apus, the sacred mountains of the Salkantay, converted into local protectors, did not go unnoticed over time, thus, mountains like the Salkantay, among others that surround it, assume a role important in the Andean worldview. For example, the snow-capped Waqay Willke (5720 masl), within the traditional symbology of Andean dual thought, is considered the complement of the Salkantay treks, which is one of the most powerful and active deities of the place, is also appreciated by the inhabitants, the father of all the mountains in the region and even today is the object of great veneration, which is why Machupicchu and Choquechurco maintain an intimate visual contact with the Salkantay and other snow-capped peaks of the Vilcabamba chain towards the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

TRAVEL NOTE SALKANTAY TREKKING:
For entrance tickets to Machu Picchu they have 4 different options and circuits: And with the new government regulations, you can spend 2 to 3 hours in Machu picchu, except for the Huaynapicchu mountain and Machupicchu mountains, where you need more time to climb these mountains.
- first option: entrance ticket to Machu picchu (this option is included for all tours). (circuit 1-2) recommendable to book in advance to have the first visiting hours 6 am and 7 am because it has different visiting hours and if we do not have these visiting hours it will be conplicated for the group and for the guide
- second option: entrance ticket to machu picchu + Huaynapicchu Mountain (circuit 4).
- third option: entrance ticket to machu picchu + Mountain Machupicchu (circuit 3).
- fourth option: huchuypicchu (circuit 4) is another option but this circuit is through the lower part of machupicchu without having access to the upper part of machupicchu to take the panoramic photo of machupicchu. “This option or circuit does not have an extra price, it is the same price as the option or circuit 1 and 2“
Tickets for these 4 options are valid for one day only.
“For example” It is impossible to do with the same entrance ticket one day machu picchu visit and the other day huaynapicchu.
“For example” You can not do with the same ticket huaynapicchu and mountain Machupicchu because the 3 options of entry to Machu Picchu are clear and specific.
** But if you want to do some extra mountain like Huaynapicchu (RESERVES 4 MONTHS ANTISPED BY SEASON HIGH TO MAY TO SEPTEMBER) or mountain machupicchu (1/2 MONTHLY ANTISPED),
With the new government regulations and circuits for your visit to Machupicchu it is impossible to do all the circuits
The guide is included for the entire trek and for Machu piccho, but for circuit 1 and 2, which is only the visit to Machupicchu and which is what they normally reserve.
But if you book with the option of the Huaynapicchu mountain, which is circuit 4, or the Machupicchu mountain, which is circuit 3, you will lose your tour with the guide because it will be impossible for the guide to be in different circuits at the same time.

For the visit of machupicchu now there are different circuits for example circuit 1 and 2 is the normal circuit for tours in machupicchu and mountain huaynapicchu is circuit 4 and mountain machupicchu is circuit 3 and are totally different circuits.
But if you want to climb huaynapicchuo mountain machupicchu mountain has an extra cost of 20 dollars per person but you lose your guide service in machupicchu…Because the guide service includes the normal circuit which is the circuit 1 And 2 in machupicchu and the guide cannot be on 2 OR 3 circuits at the same time.
¿if I do the salkantay trek tour to machu picchu of 5 days and 4 nights returning by bus the last day to cusco from the hydroelectric power plant I have enough time to go up to huaynapicchu …?
With the new government regulation you have time to return by bus that same day , because your option or circuit is to climb the mountain huaynapicchu and you will lose your guide service in machupicchu ( but I recommend you to return by the train option so you have enough time to enjoy the mountain or you can also stay one more night in Aguas Calientes hostel not included and the next day return to Cusco by bus from the hydroelectric plant included …… but it is only a recommendations okidoki operator )
¿how long do i have to visit machu picchu with the normal circuit 1 or 2 if i go back to cusco by bus on the last day after my visit to machupicchu…?
you have time to return to cusco by bus after your visit to machupicchu if we book the first entry times to machupicchu which can be 6am, 7 am or 8am ….. because with the new government regulation for the view of machupicchu you have of 2 hours 30 minutes approximately and you can only watch it for 1 time
but if we book check-in times to machupicchu after 8am like 9am or 10am you have to return by train or you can also stay one more night in Aguas Calientes hostel not included and the next day return to Cusco by bus from the hydroelectric included … … but it’s just a recommendations okidoki operator
¿how much information time do I have with the guide in machu picchu…?
You have 2 hours of information with the guide in Machu Picchu
¿How long do I have to walk to get to hydropower after visiting machu picchu..?
From Machu Picchu you have 1 hour of descent and 2 hours and 30 more minutes of plain walking to reach the hydroelectric power plant; In total they are 3 hours and 30 minutes walking hours approximately
¿what is the difference between mountain huaynapicchu and mountain machu picchu and how hard is its climb and descent…?
They are two mountain summits that are strategically located already different heights in the citadel of Machu Picchu and with totally different views.
The mountain HuaynaPicchu:
The mountain HuaynaPicchu features some Inca constructions and is located at a height of 2,720 msnm and has a time duration of 1. hour 1/2 average ascent and descent 1 hour approximately and is the one that appears behind Machu Picchu in its classic photo postcard ; Its Inca paths built into one side of the mountain can be intimidating for people who are afraid of heights because they are steep and narrow;
The mountain Machu Picchu:
The mountain Machu Picchu does not have any Inca construction but has a panoramic view of the whole valley and is located at a height of 3,100msnm and has a duration of 2 hours 1/2 average ascent and descent 1hour and 30 minutes, offers paths less steep, broader.
