The Palcoyo Day Hike Experience is a scenic adventure through a trio of rainbow-colored mountains, offering an awe-inspiring visual experience. Throughout this journey, you’ll not only discover one mountain but three, each with its own vibrant color palette. Unlike the challenging Vinicunca trek, the Palcoyo Day Hike offers a much gentler route, with only one hour of leisurely walking and minimal elevation changes. To complete your adventure, we provide a delicious breakfast and lunch. This ensures that you’re well-nourished and energized, so you can fully enjoy this kaleidoscopic wonderland. Not only will you be surrounded by stunning nature, but you’ll also savor a day filled with flavors and comfort.
This exciting tour begins early with pick-up from your hotel between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.. Afterward, we will take a comfortable bus for a journey of approximately 2 hours to the community of Cusipata, where a delicious breakfast will be served. This is the perfect opportunity to fuel up and get ready for the adventure ahead.
After breakfast, we will continue our journey by bus for 1 hour and 30 minutes. During this time, you can enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape as we head towards the starting point of the hike.
Once we arrive at the start of the trek, we will begin our hike while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Ausangate Valley. This is the perfect time to admire the vibrant, rainbow-like mountains that make up the landscape. The hike lasts approximately 2 hours and will take you to an altitude of 4650 meters above sea level, offering a unique experience in a stunning natural setting.
During the hike, we will stop to explore the fascinating Stone Forest, a wild and natural landscape that will captivate you. This stunning spot is perfect for taking photos and enjoying the tranquility of nature in its purest form.
Once the hike is complete, we will head back to the starting point of the trek and take a bus for 1 hour to a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch to replenish your energy after an active and exciting day.
Finally, after enjoying a delicious meal filled with local flavors, we will return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Plaza de Armas, the heart of the city. This will mark the end of an unforgettable experience filled with nature, culture, and stunning landscapes.
