    Travel to the Archaeological Complex of Chinchero – Cusco: Chinchero is recognized today for its textile tradition of pre-Hispanic origin. Travel to Ollantaytambo – Cusco: The archaeological site of Ollantaytambo is today best known for the Temple of the Six Monoliths. Dedicated to the Sun, this temple is situated high above the town of Ollantaytambo, on a southern extension of Cerro Bandolista. Carved from reddish rhyolite, the six monoliths are smooth and polished; and reflect the strong light of the Urubamba Valley. They shine like a beacon and are visible from all over the valley. As a monument to the cult of the Inka state, this temple reveals the ability of religious ideology to translate into monumental construction – Cusco. Its construction begins in the middle of the fifteenth century, but the Inkas did not complete it. The building exists as an unfinished thought, an opportunity to see and contemplate the intelligence of its builders. Although the temple of the six monoliths is impressive, this building is only part of the infrastructure of the Inka site – Peru Operator.
