Travel to the Coricancha or Qoricancha temple – Cusco city tour– Peru:
The Coricancha It was the most important temple of the Tahuantinsuyo inka, built in the city of Cusco during the LATE HORIZON, that is, the imperial stage of Inca history.
The Coricancha is a beautiful sacred precinct that the Inca Pachacútec ordered to be built after his victory over the Chancas, in the year 1438.
Before that, the Incas worshiped the Sun in a small temple called Inticancha, built by Manco Capac.
In the Coricancha (“Golden Enclosure”) lived the Willac Umu, highest priest of the god Inti (the Sun) who, together with the tarpuntaes, was in charge of the astronomical tasks and main religious ceremonies of the Inca Empire – Peru Operator.
