Known as the historical capital of the Inca Empire, Cusco is the starting point for most adventures in the Andes. The city perfectly blends Inca architecture with Spanish colonial influences. Here, cobblestone streets lead you to the imposing Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and the Qorikancha Temple. It is a vibrant place to acclimate to the altitude and immerse yourself in history before exploring the surrounding wonders.
Located along the Urubamba River, the Sacred Valley was the agricultural heartland of the Inca Empire. It is famous for its fertile landscapes, picturesque villages, and important archaeological sites. Here you can visit the circular agricultural terraces of Moray, the salt mines of Maras, and the fortress ruins of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. It is a mandatory stop to understand Inca life and engineering before reaching Machu Picchu.
Ollantaytambo is a living Inca town and a spectacular archaeological site. It is famous for its impressive fortress and agricultural terraces that climb a steep hillside. More than a historical place, it is an important connection point for travelers taking the train to Aguas Calientes, being the last stop before the great adventure.
Also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, Aguas Calientes is the bustling town that serves as the gateway to the Machu Picchu citadel. Located at the foot of the mountains, the town gets its name from its famous hot springs. It is a place full of hotels, restaurants, and craft markets, where travelers spend the night or prepare for their morning visit to the citadel.
The crown jewel, Machu Picchu, is a 15th-century Inca citadel and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Perched on a mountain ridge, the citadel is famous for its intricate stone structures, agricultural terraces, and temples. Its purpose remains a mystery to historians. Visiting it is a journey through time and an unforgettable experience that combines fascinating history with a dreamy landscape.

Honestly, you’ll want to book your tour at least 2 to 3 months in advance. We’re not just saying that—the train tickets and entrance passes to Machu Picchu are limited and they sell out super fast, especially during the high season!
The dry season, from May to October, is a favorite for a reason. You’ll get plenty of sunshine and minimal rain, which is perfect for photos! Just know that it’s also the most crowded time.
On the flip side, the rainy season (November to April) has fewer tourists, but you should be prepared for some unpredictable weather.
The great thing about this tour is that it’s a breeze! Since you’re traveling by train, there’s no strenuous hiking involved. You’ll only be walking within the citadel itself, so it’s suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
It’s smart to be prepared! Cusco is at a high altitude, so we highly recommend arriving at least a day or two before your tour.
Just take it easy, drink plenty of water (and maybe some coca tea!), and avoid heavy meals at first to acclimate.
Think of it this way: you’re going to need your original passport (don’t forget this—it’s essential!), comfortable clothes you can layer, a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and a rain jacket.
A reusable water bottle and your camera are a must-have, too!
Basically, we’ve got you covered on all the essentials! Your tour includes hotel pickup, all your tickets for the train and buses to Machu Picchu, your entrance fee, and a professional guide to show you around. Just remember that things like meals and personal expenses aren’t included.
Yes, this one is a big deal! You’ll need your original, valid passport for both the train journey and to enter Machu Picchu. Seriously, they won’t let you in without it, so make sure you have it with you.
